Jennifer Perkins was named City Secretary in January 2019. She has been employed with the City of Dayton since 2001. As City Secretary, she is responsible for the management of the Municipal Court, public information requests, the management, safeguarding, organization, and processing of all official records and documents of the City as well as the preparation of all City Council meeting documents along with conducting all Municipal elections.
Other responsibilities include assisting the City Council in fulfilling its duties and responsibilities, posting and management of minutes of all official meetings, and processing public information requests. The City Secretary serves as the Chief Election Official and Early Voting Clerk for the City of Dayton.
Elections and Voting
The City of Dayton General Elections are held on the 1st Saturday in May of each year. After the 2022 Special Election, the Mayor and each Council Person shall hold office for three (3) year terms. They will transition from two-year to three-year terms, beginning in the May 2023 election through the May 2026 election.
